QotD: Five Senses
If you had to give up one of your five senses, which one would it be?
This is an interesting question.
How can you choose?
When I was a lot younger I would have said my sense of smell because my nose isn't that great anyway. But since smell and taste are so closly linked, how would that affect my sense of taste? I'm not sure I could go through life being unable to taste chocolate or steak.
So, I would give my hearing. I'm not such a music lover that I couldn't live without that and while not being able to hear would certainly make my job more challanging, I can see myself being relived that I don't have to hear people's tones of voice or overhear nasty, snippy little coments and cuss words. Not to mention the joy of being free of loud sounds like airplanes, other peoples crappy music, cars with no mufflers, the sound of the neighbors screaming and people signing along with the radio. Out of any of the senses I get annoyed by things I have to listen to, more than anything else. Although I would miss my husband's voice and the sound of Harleys. LOL!
